Custom Laravel Website for Bronze and Brass Sculpture Business
The Bali Bronze website is a custom web application developed for a business specializing in the design and sale of creative sculptures made from bronze and brass.
With more than 20 years of experience in creating bronze and brass sculptures, the website serves as an online platform to showcase the company’s creative work and provide customers with an easy way to explore available products and initiate transactions.
The project was developed using Laravel and PHP, with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and MySQL supporting the overall application.
My primary responsibilities included developing the user interface and implementing the transaction flow, including sending transaction-related information to customers through email.
Technology Stack
The website was developed using a combination of backend and frontend technologies:
- Programming Languages: PHP and JavaScript
- Framework: Laravel
- Frontend: HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap
- Database: MySQL
- Backend: Laravel / PHP
- Frontend Interaction: JavaScript
Laravel provided the application’s core framework, while Bootstrap was used to help create a responsive and structured user interface.
MySQL was used to store and manage application data, while JavaScript supported interactive elements throughout the website.
User Interface Development
One of the main responsibilities in this project was developing and customizing the user interface.
The interface was designed to provide visitors with a clear and straightforward way to explore the company’s products and information.
The implementation focused on aspects such as:
- Website navigation
- Product presentation
- Sculpture information
- Page layouts
- Buttons and interactive elements
- Forms
- Responsive layouts
- Content organization
- Customer transaction flow
Because the website represents a creative sculpture business, the interface needed to provide sufficient space for product imagery and descriptions while keeping the overall navigation simple and intuitive.
Responsive Frontend with Bootstrap
The frontend was developed using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap.
Bootstrap provided a foundation for creating responsive layouts that could adapt to different screen sizes.
The interface was adjusted to provide a consistent browsing experience across:
- Desktop computers
- Laptops
- Tablets
- Mobile devices
Responsive design is especially important for an online product showcase because customers can access the website from a variety of devices when browsing sculptures and making inquiries.
Laravel Application Development
The website was developed using the Laravel framework, with PHP handling the core server-side functionality.
Laravel was used to structure the application’s backend and manage interactions between the frontend, business logic, and database.
The framework provided an organized foundation for implementing features such as:
- Routing
- Request handling
- Form processing
- Database interaction
- Transaction processing
- Email communication
- Application logic
Using Laravel also made it possible to maintain a structured codebase that could be extended with additional functionality as the business requirements evolved.
Transaction Flow
Another important responsibility in the project was implementing the customer transaction flow.
The website was designed to allow customers to interact with the available products and proceed through the appropriate transaction process.
The transaction functionality involved handling customer information and transaction-related data before delivering the relevant information to the customer.
This created a more organized process compared with relying entirely on manual communication.
Transaction Information via Email
An important part of the transaction implementation was the ability to send transaction-related information directly to the customer’s email.
After the appropriate transaction process was completed, the system could communicate relevant information to the customer through email.
Email-based communication provides customers with a convenient record of their transaction and reduces the need to manually communicate transaction details through separate channels.
The implementation also required coordination between the application’s backend logic, stored transaction data, and email functionality.
MySQL Database Integration
The application used MySQL as its database system.
The database was responsible for storing information required by the application and supporting the transaction workflow.
Laravel’s database capabilities were used to connect the application’s business logic with the stored data.
This allowed information submitted through the website to be processed and managed systematically.
Development Approach
The project followed a development process focused on both the user experience and transaction functionality.
1. User Interface Development
The website interface was developed to provide a clear and visually appropriate presentation for the company’s bronze and brass sculpture products.
2. Frontend Implementation
HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and JavaScript were used to implement the website’s visual components and interactive functionality.
3. Laravel Backend Development
Laravel and PHP were used to implement the application’s backend functionality, including routing, request processing, database interaction, and transaction logic.
4. Database Integration
MySQL was integrated with the Laravel application to store and manage relevant website and transaction data.
5. Transaction Implementation
The customer transaction workflow was implemented to allow customer information and transaction details to be processed through the website.
6. Email Communication
Transaction-related information was delivered to customers through email, providing a convenient communication channel and transaction record.
7. Responsive Testing
The interface was reviewed across different screen sizes to ensure that customers could access and interact with the website effectively from desktop and mobile devices.
Project Result
The completed Bali Bronze website combines a creative product showcase with a custom Laravel-based transaction workflow.
The project demonstrates the use of Laravel, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap to create a custom web application rather than relying solely on an off-the-shelf CMS.
The main focus of my contribution was the user interface and transaction functionality, including the process of communicating transaction information to customers through email.
The result provides the business with an online presence where customers can explore its bronze and brass sculpture products while supporting a structured digital transaction process.
